Investiture
Mrs. Kwl explained the petal they earned. While Mrs. K. explained the badges. Each girl walked through a decorated arch to receive their official Daisy pin. 22 girls make up the New Daisy Troop 41184~
1ST GRADE DAISIES WHO ARE BRIDGING ONLY
I have only received permission for 3 girls to bridge.
If you have not done so please get that in ASAP.
Please respond to this email with a YES WE ARE BRIDGING in the subject line so I can give Phyllis a heads up about how many girls to expect. They are doing a Science experiment badge which are girls will earn as well. (part of the requirement to bridge)
Once I know how many girls are participating I can plan activities accordingly to make sure that our girls get the most out of this experience. Please remember to also include a $8 to troop 41184 for expenses. If you are unable to pay the fee, please just submit the form. We don’t want any girls to miss out on this experience.
I am really looking forward to participating in this process with our girls. Hope they all can participate.
Wendy

Join millions of people around the world and turn off your lights in a unified call for action to combat climate change on Saturday, March 28 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.
Earth Hour is a global effort to encourage every individual, business, and community to turn out the lights for one hour to show that by working together, everyone can make a difference in the fight against climate change.
In Chicago and the surrounding area, Earth Hour 2009 is presented by ComEd, and is a partnership of the World Wildlife Fund, ComEd, the City of Chicago, and Leo Burnett.
Last year, more than 2.7 million people in the region turned off their lights for Earth Hour 2008. ComEd reported electricity savings of 7 percent or 818-megawatt hours – the carbon emissions equivalent of:
- 1.3 million pounds of carbon dioxide
- 72,000 gallons of gasoline consumed
- Taking more than 1 million cars off the road for one hour
- Planting 158 acres of trees
ComEd’s support of Earth Hour contributes to the company’s robust portfolio of energy efficiency and environmental programs. Earth Hour is also a component of Exelon 2020, an aggressive effort by ComEd’s parent company, Exelon, to reduce, offset, or displace more than 15 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year by 2020.
While the core message of the 2009 campaign remains the same – to turn off the lights for one hour – long-term changes are needed. Learn simple tips for everyday energy savings.
